Bench Mounted Clay Extruder - Hand Screw Driven - Removable and Easy to Clean - Eco Plastic - no strength needed, includes 8 dies

A home extruder is as essential as quality trimming tools. A tabletop extruder that can be permanently affixed, mounted to a bracket for easy cleaning or attached to a wall. The hopper body has a maximum capacity of 118ml. This is enough volume to be able to push through 60-90cm of extruded clay.

There is a "fixed" and a "removable" version.
FIXED - Is screw permanently to the load bearing surface and does not move position.
REMOVABLE - Includes a bracket that is affixed your load bearing surface, which allowed the extruders to be removed for cleaning and storage.

Both options are suitable, the bracket allows for much easier cleaning of the chamber.

This a reduced version of a wall mounted extruder, designed for the potter that doesn't need to waste hundreds of dollars on an unnecessary box extruder. The extruder and parts, are made using additive manufacturing. This allows me to keep plastic use down and add strength where it is needed.

The extruder can accommodate a strip extruder die, that runs through the centre and seals the chamber during use. This allows for the ability to change coil diameters and extrusion designs quickly, even when clay is inside the hopper, even when the plunger compressed, a feature not found on any extruder.

The extruder is offered in 3 colours and 2 material types. Black, White or Pink PLA. PLA is a biodegradable plastic, that can be composted in a commercial composter. It is strong, reliable and suitable to application. It is ecological responsible due it being sourced from biomatter such as sugar cane and corn.

The second material is Black ABS. A more traditional plastic that can be recycled. It is very strong, UV resistant, and will not degrade over time if left in water or direct sunlight. It can be categorised as an engineering plastic. It requires more care in manufacturing, but delivers a much more robust product. ABS can be recycled, and carries the "7" recycling code.

There is also a variety of additional dies that can be purchased, this listing is constantly being added to. Some packs get dropped over time, and other seasonal packs are added.

The extruder is often changing form and refinement. Like all artists, our ideas don't just finish, they go through a lifetime of change, and my tools are no different. The extruder is something I am always revisiting. The most recent changes have been in changing the bench footprint and shipping size whilst gaining better strength. The Screw plunger is total redesign of the entire concept, with all extruders being able to share same bench bracket.

I keep a low number of extruders on hand, but I am able to make them as required in my studio.

This extruder is able to extrude all clay types. I have found that wetting down buff and raku clays aids in extruding them. The smaller the extrusion hole, the more pressure that is required. Always consider mounting to a lower bench, preferably at or below hip height for ease of use.
