This is a 3D printed wall mounted removable extruder that can be affixed to any load bearing vertical surface. The hopper body has a maximum capacity of 118ml. This is enough volume to be able to push through 60-90cm of extruded clay. This a reduced version of a wall mounted extruder, designed for the potter that doesn't need to waste hundreds of dollars on an unnecessary box extruder. The extruder has a robust design to increase safety and designed to last a life-time.

The extruder is a designed to accommodate a strip extruder die, that runs through the centre and seals the chamber during use. This allows for the ability to change coil diameters and extrusion designs quickly, even when clay is inside the hopper, with the plunger compressed.

I also produce a bench mounted version version of this extruder. It is permanently affixed to and flat load bearing flat surface.

The extruder is offered in 3 colours and 2 material types. Black, White or Pink PLA. PLA is a biodegradable plastic, that can be composted in a commercial composter. It is strong, reliable and suitable to application. It is ecological responsible due it being sourced from biomatter such as sugarcane and corn.

The second material is Black PET(G). A more traditional plastic that is harder to recycle. It is very strong, UV resistant, and will not degrade over time if left in water or direct sunlight. It can be categorised as an engineering plastic. It requires more care in manufacturing, but delivers a much more robust product. PET(G) can be recycled in the PET recycling stream.

There is also a second extruder pack that is offered that is focused on replicating hand pulled shapes and small test tiles. https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/1836200883/wall-mounted-mini-extruder-with-16
New Extruder packs will be offered periodically, usually when I can finalise shapes that are effective and useful.

The extruder is often changing form and refinement. Like all artists, our ideas don't just finish, they go through a lifetime of change, and my tools are no different. The extruder is something I am always revisiting.

I keep a low number of extruders on hand, but I am able to make them as required in my studio.

This extruder is more suited to soft clays, and firm clays require more pressure. I have found that wetting down buff and raku clays aids in extruding them. The smaller the extrusion hole, the more pressure that is required. Always consider mounting to a surface, preferably at or below hip height for ease of use.

This extruder is printed at my studio and shipped from Perth, Australia for Australian and NZ orders. For my international friends, I use on demand printing services in the US. This reduces the shipping time for you.

Cleaning is also easy as the hopper can be removed after every use and washed out.

When finding an area for your new extruder, select somewhere that allows you to stand alongside the hopper and plunger, and place at a height that is about halfway between your knee and thigh. I find this to be the most ergonomic position for extended use. Always be mindful of what is in your walls and isolate the power to your work area before screwing into walls.

The bracket is spaced with 4 holes 28mm apart for 40mm timber frame. The holes are 6mm in diameter to allow a variety of fixings.
